The bank's cybersecurity employees teamed up with specialists in Infosecurity from Noventiq to find a comprehensive solution for the task.
The situation
One of the largest regional banks in the Kirov region, Norvik Bank provides a wide range of services and products for both individuals and corporate clients, including loans, debit and credit cards, deposits, cash and settlement services, currency exchanges – to name but a few.
Infosecurity, on the other hand, is a specialist provider of information security, system integration, and consulting services. Since 2018, the organisation has played a key role at Noventiq Group.
The main criteria for choosing the incident monitoring and response system were performance, technological maturity, and security. At the same time, it was important that the solution should not impact the productivity and quality of the bank's business processes. Having a connection with the Infosecurity system met Norvik Bank’s needs in terms of regulatory compliance and system protection against security breaches, as well as helping them with early detection and preventing cyber attacks.
The solution
"We connected the bank to our ISOC and configured the response scenarios based on real-life cases. Together with the Bank's cybersecurity employees, the specialists of Infosecurity and Noventiq managed to find a comprehensive solution to the task, to do it within the agreed terms, and to budget. We can say for sure that connecting the bank to the ISOC centre has been a success, and we’re ready to start its full-scale industrial operation," said Alexei Yudin, CEO at the Infosecurity Monitoring Center.
The results
Since August 2021, Infosecurity's ISOC—Information Security Operations Center—has been responsible for data processing and protection against cyberthreats at Norvik Bank PJSC. The bank has been connected to the system based on the cloud SOC model, where events are handled and threats revealed by the ISOC SIEM platform at the Infosecurity facilities. The SOC-as-a-Service model helps the bank to provide comprehensive protection of branded infrastructure and data. Assistance from recognised professionals in information security management has helped the bank safeguard itself from external threats and protect their data in accordance with GOST R 57580 and PCI DSS.
"It’s essential for us to keep up with the times and ensure the proper level of protection of our customers' funds and data. Every day, thousands of people and businesses entrust us with their personal and financial data, so connecting to Infosecurity SOC was, in our opinion, the right decision from a strategic point of view. The ISOC cloud system has increased the quality of detection and prevention of advanced cyber-attacks and enabled us to comply with industry standards," commented Andrey Konyakhin, Head of the Information Security Department of Norvik Bank .
