Migration of an Authentication System for Orange Business Services

Noventiq's goal is to make the transition from the outdated version of the lifecycle management system of Token Management System electronic keys to the new one. To accomplish this task, the working group had to collect data on the customer's information system and develop an optimal solution.

Situation

Orange Business Services is one of the world leaders in the telecommunications market and an international provider of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia, which has its own developed infrastructure and is a national telecommunications operator. Orange Business Services focuses on solutions at the intersection of telecommunications and IT, which means special requirements for the company's internal business processes and the level of development of its information environment.

Noventiq’s goal is to make the transition from the outdated version of the lifecycle management system of Token Management System electronic keys to the new one. To accomplish this task, the working group had to collect data on the customer's information system and develop an optimal solution.

Solution

After the preparatory stage, Noventiq’s specialists proposed a project for the implementation of the SafeNet Authentication Manager software package from Aladdin R.D.

The advantages of the proposed system are as follows:

  • Reducing the cost of maintaining information systems by automating typical operations, which allows  the total cost of ownership (TCO) to be reduced of the information system and the return on investment (ROI) to be increased;
  • Security upgrade and manageability of IT systems of the enterprise, as well as transferring administrative control and audit to a whole new level;
  • Simplifying implementation and lifecycle management of smart cards and USB keys at all stages of use, including inventory issues.

The implementation of the entire project, from the moment of initial discussion to turnkey operation, which took 14 days for the Noventiq project team, included three main stages: preparation, implementation of the solution and development of operational documentation. The complexity of the approach to solving the assigned tasks is one of the key indicators of the quality of work performed by Noventiq.

A crucial point for both parties was the list of criteria for the success of the work carried out, namely:

  • error-free interaction of SafeNet Authentication Manager with the electronic keys and smart cards of the customer;
  • detailed instructions for updating client modules and further SAM administration.

Results

Based on the results of the completed project, the work carried out by Noventiq specialists fully meets the set goals, deadlines and accepted evaluation criteria. As a result, migration from the Token Management System to the updated SafeNet Authentication Manager client modules was implemented in the information environment of Orange Business Services.
