Noventiq specialists created a new corporate portal for Ucell, based on Microsoft SharePoint 2013.

The situation

The Ucell brand belongs to COSCOM LLC, a company founded in 1996. Since 2007, it has been part of the Telia Company, a telecom holding company operating in the markets of Europe and Eurasia with a total population of over 460 million people. Ucell's activities are an integral part of the group's strategy, which blends the heritage of developed markets in Scandinavia with 160+ years of experience and high growth potential in the emerging markets of Eurasia.

To simplify the work of marketing specialists with the corporate portal and to increase the efficiency of corporate business processes Ucell decided to migrate the service to another platform.

The solution

Noventiq’s specialists created and styled a whole new corporate portal for the customer based on Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and moved all the necessary information there. Noventiq engineers integrated the portal with Active Directory to simplify user authorisation and create a single employee database. The SMS system connected to the portal provided employees with information about corporate events. The portal was also integrated with the Microsoft Exchange email server to send notifications. Internal vacancies on the portal are imported from the database of the Easy Cruit external recruiting system. Ucell employees now get global news via an RSS feed from the head company's site.

To monitor Microsoft SharePoint servers and services, Noventiq specialists configured Microsoft System Center Operation Manager and installed Netwrix Auditor for SharePoint software. With these software products, the customer's IT staff can track even the slightest changes in settings, access rights, files, and folder structure.

The results

"By moving the portal to Microsoft SharePoint, the customer now has a powerful and convenient tool for corporate communications. Users no longer need to enter credentials every time they access the system and they can post documents on the resource without bothering the IT service. This solution is very scalable, so we will be able to connect other services to the portal in the future, exploring the potential of teamwork and collaboration," commented Marat Gubaidullin, Head of the International Project Division, Microsoft Solutions Department at Noventiq.
